the importance of eye exams

Our eye exams are more than just a “vision check”. We look at how the eyes work together, also known as Binocular Vision, in addition to visual acuity, which is a measurement of how clearly the eyes can see. We also determine your refraction, which is the power of lens required in glasses that allow your eyes to see clearly.

The final and most important component is the health of the surface and inner components of the eye. There are numerous eye conditions that exist which may not immediately affect your clarity of vision, but if left undetected and untreated, can negatively impact your vision as it progresses.

In most cases, we will recommend you consider having your eyes dilated as part of a complete eye examination. This is an eye drop that widens the pupil, which allows us to perform a more thorough assessment of the inside of the eye.
